Turning Point treated me awfully. It was a mistake attending Turning Point of Tampa. I would be very uncomfortable recommending Turning Point of Tampa to anyone.
Very good with multiple addictions . Needs more outings and provide options for physical activity. Over good with dealing with addictions but needs more real life situations outside of the treatment center.
Turning Point helped my son identify psychological triggers that cause addictive behavior in himself; helped him with internal motivation to stay clean; gave him confidence in himself; promoted NA and/or AA meetings as well as Al-A-Non for family; helped him with anger & other issues. F/U care for a few weeks after he left; Set him up with a half-way house where he lived over a year, with our financial assistance. Highly recommend!
We lived in a "village" which consisted of 3 bdrm duplexes. We shopped every Friday & did our own cooking. The whole experienced enriched my life. I went from entering with non-stop crying for 4 days to exiting with a huge smile & a direction in my heart that I knew I would follow forever. The counselors were always alert to our individual needs & addressed them accordingly. Ages were in various ranges as well as why people were there. I left there never looking back knowing I was on the mend. To this day 13 years later I've not had one drop to drink & I Praise God for this. I'd pray that anyone who'd enter their doors would also find their path.
Experienced staff who listen. High turnover of staff. It was difficult to evaluate this facility before selection and application. There are other god facilities and it is very difficult to decide which one to attend.
Strengths: the ability to work with many types of problems and give people the help they need. the facility is well staffed with very professional minded peolpe that care very much about there job and the people that they are there to help facility is very well maintained and residents are treated with care
Great counselors, knowledgeable staff. Could allow more time for one on one therapy visits. Most of the staff are in recovery, and I feel they understand more so than staff that have not been through the horrors of addiction.
