Treatment Center Philosophy

We want the best outcomes for our members and meeting their needs is first in everything we do. We care for our members in a nurturing manner. We support, guide, lead and care for them but do not enable them or others. Treating substance use and concurrent mental health disorders is complex as each individual presents a unique combination of mental health disorders, substances used and readiness for help. Therefore, treatment plans must be personalized to the needs of the individual member. To achieve the best outcomes, we utilize a broad range of available and effective evidence-based psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, naturopathic, and adjunctive approaches so that personalized treatment is effective at meeting the member where they are at. We treat our staff and members with respect and honor their contributions. We invest in the continuing growth, development and nurturing of our staff and they must exemplify our Purpose, Principles, and Philosophies inside and outside of our community. We believe in doing well by doing good. Our stakeholders deserve an adequate return on capital so that we can reinvest capital in helping more people recover.

Meet The Staff

Stacy Glenn
Clinical Director

Stacy Glenn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her BSW from, what is now, Missouri State University in Springfield and her MSW from St. Louis University. The emphasis of both her education and career has been family. Her first job out of school was working with adolescents and families in a comprehensive mental health facility in northwest Arkansas. During this time, she was instrumental in developing the dual diagnosis program for that organization. This is where her drive to work with individuals with substance use disorders began. Her next career decision was a move to a certified substance use treatment program serving under and un-insured populations. She remained with this agency for 17 years carrying the titles of therapist, family services coordinator, clinical supervisor, program director, interventionist and VP of substance use services. Also, within this timeframe, she was an active member of the Missouri Cadre for Co-Occurring Excellence, and acted as the change agent for her agency in becoming more co-occurring capable, and presented at MIMH Spring Institute on how to effectively facilitate change in existing programs. Whereas she worked to bring substance use treatment into a mental health facility, she now was bringing mental health into addiction treatment programs. Stacy continues to be dedicated to being part of systems that work to help people who are struggling with incredibly complex and often, stigmatizing issues. That is why she jumped at the opportunity to be part of the development of Sana Lake Recovery Center, where she has the role of Clinical Director.

Nate Brack

I am a graduate of the University of Colorado with specialized training in traumatic stress and addiction. As a therapist I believe that symptoms resulting from stressful life experiences can be treated using validated scientific interventions. Addiction can often accompany traumatic stress. In an effort to cope, individuals frequently find themselves trapped by the comforting yet costly effects of addictive behaviors.

Kevin Bunten

It is my belief that people need to be heard, can find and articulate their truth, and discover their own path to health. With compassion, empathy, and time—time to tell their story, a person can feel appreciated, heal, and change. In my counseling practice, I have worked hard to include spirituality, creativity, and the ability to accompany someone on their journey—so that our brief connections can have impact through the week, and throughout life. I value family input and involvement, social supports, and evidence-based methods, but more so I value my client’s individual personal journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. I grew up in St. Louis, and have lived around the country—in cities and small towns. I have a Master of Divinity from St. Thomas Theological University in Denver, and a Master of Science in Education and Counselor Services from Fordham University from New York City. I have been working as a Counselor in Private Practice and various clinical settings such as Medical Centers, Clinics, Intensive Outpatient, and Residential Substance Abuse Counseling since 1999. My passion is working with individuals and couples, and my specialty areas are addiction, adjustment and meaning, sexuality issues, trauma, and grief. However, I also love Group Counseling, public speaking and education related to psychology and counseling.

I came to Sana Lake hopeless and lost. Everyone there made me feel welcomed and loved . I had went to other treatment centers and only here was I treated as an individual and cared for based on what I needed. The therapy was on point and challenged me to face traumas that were causing my disease to continue. Thank you to all of the Sana Lake staff and other members, I am for the first time in 10 years in recovery!
