I went to rogers and honestly it made me feel worse about myself. The food is disgusting, the staff is rude, and there were some occassions where I was not allowed to take my psycotic meds. I was on the adolecant unit and we were supposed to wake up by 7:30 am each morning. If we didn't, they wouldn't allow us to brush our teeth, take a shower, or put on deoderant. If we didn't wake up by 7:40, then we wouldn't be able to take our prescribed medication. This happened to several of my peers and I on the unit. I told my mother and she even complained about this. There was another time that came where I got a migrane and I needed to take my prescribed migrane medication, and when I asked for my meds, staff told me to ask again later because I was supposed to be working on assignments. I would never send you or a loved one to Rogers. It was absolutley horrible.

I was in for detox in the summer and this hospital and it’s staff saved my life. I am now going to be sober for 6 months next week. I am so grateful for the experience knowing there’s a life after drinking.

My son's week at Rogers in Wisconsin was the worst week of our 5 year journey of dealing with his mental illness. From the moment we arrived to check him in (voluntarily) we knew that it was not a good fit. The 3 people that we spoke with were all dismissive, no one welcomed our son, encouraged him in any way or were in any way warm or kind. They read the rules, took away his phone, computer, etc., did not let us help him unpack and made no acknowledgement that this was a brave and difficult thing that he was doing. Once there, the treatment was punitive instead of helpful, they did not have his correct medication and they were not responsive to his request for help completing assignments. They did not have up to date information from the Rogers facility that he transferred from. They were very unresponsive to my requests to speak to anyone at all. And when we finally decided to bring our son home, before completing the program, they told us that they had completed the necessary steps for him to return to the program at home. However, the program at home said that he could not be readmitted until he had completed the residential program. Even though they are part of the same company, they did not communicate effectively and our son was released without any place or program to move to. They did not offer any guidance when we asked for a list of other facilities to check out. There was nothing positive, for my son or my husband and me, and I would not wish another family ever have the same experience that we had. Since leaving there, we have found a wonderful spot that did everything that Rogers did not, and thankfully, our son is on the road to recovery.

Top-notch treatment facility in every way possible. Highly-qualified, educated and caring staff; excellent food; beautiful, comfortable and clean environment. I would not be following a sober path today if it wasn’t for the program offered by Herrington. This includes everything from behavioral to psychological to recreational treatment, as well as after-care treatment. I can’t say enough about this facility. They saved my life! It works if you work it!

Its supposed to be one of the best but it was seriously the worst rehab I have ever been to. The property itself was nice but the staff was lazy and didn't want to help me with any of my needs even though I asked on a daily basis. They only want the rich kids that don't really have to help and only have to babysit. Plus they told me because I was "attractive" I had to dress differently from the typical dress code so I wasn't a distraction to the boys. Don't send your loved ones here! They sent me out on new meds that were supposed to be monitored without even a proper supply. One more thing.. they reported family sessions ect.. to my insurance that they billed for that never happened!

Rogers Memorial Hospital almost took my life. One of the worst experiences IN MY LIFE.......comparable to death of my father. I say that to make certain I am heard by anyone considering "asking for help." The staff cracked jokes while asking me if had had ever been raped during the horaciously long intake process. Then I was was treated as a criminal, degraded by almost EVERY staff member.....for example: a cna came in to check on me, I had been so ill I cohldnt love without fainting, and embarrassingly had lost my capability to get to the bathroom so had had an "accident" in my bed. She snickered and left. The next nurse on duty was horrified and treated me with care. Next example: for some reason I had to repeat the entire impainful intake interrogation 3 times. The 2nd time was during the illness I just spoke of. He told me to get up. I said I cant, I keep fainting and I cant control my bowels (how horrid). His answer was that "I don't make the rules here so be ready in 90 seconds. I asked how far the bathroom was from where he demanded I go. He was extremely irritated and said this was part of the process so do as I say if you want treatment. I needed help. I was at the end of my rope. I had to choose between pooping myself or suicide. I had to do it. How horrid. He took me to a room with no bathroom anywhere close. I lost my bowels.....putting me in a position where I had to walk, without assistance across the "commons gathering area" where there were probably 25 people, with poop in my pants. Really? This is help? You couldn't interview me in my room or even have the decency to bring me a clean pair of pants? I returned to my room. Sheets still full of feces.....so tired I continued to faint. Type one diabetes.....not ONE TIME was my blood sugar checked. Sigh this is so painful. The psychiatrist was AWESOME. The ONLY person with any empathy, the ONLY person who listened to a word I said I refused group therapy. The almost kicked me out until I threatened a lawsuit. I am a vegetarian. It took me four days to get anything to eat but a daily "salad" someone else designed (lettuce) and they were ticked they had to do it because it was a "militant rule" that you could not eat in your room. Ugh Again this is PAINFUL. PAINFUL ENOUGH I WOULDNT WISH IT UPON MY WORST ENEMY THEREFORE SO SO SO PERTINENT IT BE PUBLISHED, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO ARE MAKING A LIFE OR DEATH DECISION AND WEAK AND JUST....WANT....HELP. almost done thank goodness. I demanded I be released. I honestly felt I would die there. I couldn't get help and I wasn't able to focus enough to take care of my own health.....but they wouldn't so I had to "escape" or I'd die from suicide or health issues. Thank you Rogers for your "help". My demand was responded to like I was a criminal addict who simply wanted to continue to use. They threatened to force my insurance not to cover the stay.....even showing me how much I'd owe them if I left.....I am a laid off single mother. I said fine. Bill me. I need to survive. Three conditions were to be met for liability reasons for me to be discharged. 1. I HAD to have a primary care doctor (didn't have one) 2: I HAD to have a psychiatrist (I had been on UW healths behavior health WAITING LIST for 8 months) 3. I had to sign off that I had forced discharge against their "medical advice" so they couldn't be held accountable should I commit suicide It had to be done for me to live so I agreed. I was unable to even walk. They didn't offer any help. I had to make all the phone calls. I couldn't get a psychiatrist to take me on because of the waiting list. I was beyond hope and they couldn't make a phone call for me? I could only use the phone during certain hours.....about two hours a day. I was offered no privacy during these calls.....it wasn't "allowed". I'm losing my mind. Are you kidding! So I couldn't get a psychiatrist and the ALLOWED ME TO LEAVE WITHOUT ANY CARE SET UP.!!!! When I got home I contacted them because they had started a med change that I was in the middle of...that wasn't working causing me to be suicidal....thinking "my only solace was the psychiatrist on staff!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME the answer I got?!!!!???? Sorry you are no longer a patient here therefore we can't help you. Ugh Sadly I forgot one more thing I FINALLY got them to allow me to eat in my room and actually order a diet that could meet my diabetic needs and actually not have meat in it! The staff member came in knocking loudly....startling me horridly. I was so scared I didn't respond quickly because I was in deep panic. He didn't even peek in enough to see if I was in the room. I came out without help....walked to the nurses station. There he was....eating my food. I stood there watching him make fun of the "weird vegetarian". Scarfing it down. I didn't move so when he was done he had no choice other than to see me standing there! He froze. I walked away. No apology. No offer to replace my meal. Nothing. Lastly....I only had two pair of bottoms. They made me do my own laundry.!..!....remember I had lost control of my bowels due to illness. How embarrassing. It was a rule that you take responsibility for yourself. Ugh PLEASE DONT GO THROUGH WHAT I DID

My son was a patient at Rogers for detox, followed by treatment at the Herrington Center. Our insurance refused payment, but they kept him for 21 days because they believed he needed it and was serious about his recovery. It was amazing! My son is 66 days clean, and he continues to work on his recovery. The doctors, counselors, and psychiatrists are top notch. I have my son back! I will forever be grateful to everyone at Rogers and highly recommend this treatment facility.

This place is beyond amazing. The staff is beyond wonderful! They are so caring. All the staff really works with you to succeed. All of the doctors, the RNs the techs. Wow. I have never felt so much love at a place to detox. And the knowledge you get while you are at Rogers is amazing. In the adult unit you have your own bedroom and shower. Which is so nice! I believe Rogers saved my life. Thanks to the wonderful staff. Everyone at this facility deserves a raise! If you are thinking of going here or your loved one send them! They will get the help they need and beyond! Thank you staff for making my stay so amazing and heart warming!

My son suffered from OCD that had taken over his life. We sent our son to Rogers as a inpatient for 60 days. I cannot express how much gratitude I have for the doctors and staff who helped my son to gain his life back. My son today lives without the torment of OCD. My husband and I will be forever greatful to Rodgers. It's been a little over a year now since my son was treated at Rodgers . My son has thanked my husband and I for sending him there. I and I for sending him to Wisconsin ( we live in California) to Rodgers. My son is now 17 now and living happily.

Staff was very cookie-cutter in their approach, condescending, and wouldn\'t listen. They know best and you are there to follow orders. It works for many I\'m sure, but not for situations that fall outside their neat little universe. Anxiety and drug addiction are the same thing, right? Evidently they are at Rogers.

Rogers and Herrington House did not live up to its high accreditation for us. My husband was a patient and we were both treated atrociously from day one. For starters, Rogers is not equipped to handle patients with any health issues. At the start of detox, they made it very clear that they didn\'t want my husband at Rogers becasue of health issues. They sent him back to the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital the first morning only because Rogers did not have CPAP equipment which they did not tell him to bring before we left home. When I traveled an hour to bring the equipment Rogers did not want to readmit my husband but they reluctantly did. I do not agree at all with the policy of insisting a patient come immediately for detox but then the patient gets sent back home because Herrington has no space available. You don\'t detox an alcoholic and then send him back home. After two weeks my husband was finally admitted to Herrington House where he stayed for 6 weeks. For 5 weeks of this stay I was treated like an enemy. Counselors of addicts should know that they lie and constantly blame loved ones and see through this, but no his counselors and doctors believed everything he said and treated me horrible, going as far as banning me from the house. It wasn\'t till the last week that my husbands counselor finally saw that he was lying and manipulating and denying everything. Needless to say they released him when he was still not even starting recovery and he relapsed after one week at home. The staff tell the patients that relapse is ok and they don\'t hide the fact that many patients have to return to treatment several times. What kind of a rehab place is this? If treatment is done right it should only need to be done once and the patient should be sent home in recovery or not sent home. Family members should be welcomed and treated as part of the team not as enemies of the patient. If you are considering Rogers or Herrington House, you may want to ask a lot of questions about care and check other rehab facilities before you waste your money.

I attended Herrington for treatment of polysubstance abuse/dependence and to help with co-occuring bipolar disorder and bulimia nervosa. To make a long story short, the treatment team was staffed by two overpaid and incompetent stuffed suits who did nothing more than observe run-of-the-mill group therapy, where clients were the victims of blatant favoritism. The Psychiatrist on staff prescribed multiple psych drugs without meeting me once, which led to me becoming very drowsy - which I was punished for. Supervision was incredibly lax. I eventually was kicked out for being late a few times to the morning \"group\" (sitting in a circle and answering banal questions), something I blame on the fact that I was overmedicated and misdiagnosed. Herrington is a huge money pit, even with insurance covering my Tx, they attempted for months afterwards to wring money out of my family. Please do not be fooled, the program is allegedly 12-step based, but the only meetings we went to were attended by other patients, and recently released patients. The groups were completely unrevealing as well, and the counselors showed no real dedication to their patients, nor did they have any real life experience with substance dependence. The food was alright, I suppose.

Strengths: Patient care, patient comfort, patient safety, patient overall well being. Weakness: one single counselor that was not caring nor understanding during treatment, in my opinion. I highly recommend this facility and staff, in the adult detox program, to anyone in need of this type of health care and counseling. The care and follow up outpatient treatment I had received from Rogers has changed my entire life, along with my own commitment to change it. Sometimes we just can't do it alone, and this staff is very good at what they do, helping people get through very difficult times in their life, such as addition and eating disorders. I had been an active heroin and opioid addict for nearly 8 years, and now have been free from addiction for three years, without looking back, following detox and my treatment with Rogers! It's an awesome achievement, and I am forever thankful for the care I had received at the clean and beautiful location in Oconomowoc!

Three treatments and the longest sobriety after any was FOUR months including follow up counseling, DOESN' T work for me. ZERO use in my estimation.....Many patients had individual needs, but zero counseling time spent addressing them essentially. I have two suicides in family (dad & oldest brother) NO facility has adequately addressed these adolescent traumas. Psychiatrist (contractor, not on site) was terrible. Incorrectly diagnosed me as bipolar. Awful situation. About three months with divorce following in another year. BAD outcomes all the way around. SO that is why the expense is just outrageous to me.....I won't fault a particular facility. All care was provided in good faith. I have very difficult ego and independence issues that yet continue. I drink alcohol EVERY DAY , just as I had since about the age of 30 while a high functioning Pharmacist at Mayo Clinic (17 years in Cancer chemotherapy treatment, NO errors of significance in that time ***). So I am on S.S. Disability for the rest of my life as consequences of #3 treatment were like the the dam that broke. Divorce & now all personal financial assets spent since about October of 2012. I am quite content to keep drinking alcohol as I have for about 30 years time. Treatment and AA did nothing to help me in five different settings (three formal rehabs and two extended AA participation durations) . . .The original 6 steps of AA are: complete deflation (never happened) dependence and guidance of spirits (never will happen) moral inventory ( I drank alcohol, that is the extent of immoral behavior. PERIOD..... Confession (to WHAT?) RESTITUTION (NONE because it isn't necessary) and continued work (GOOD but never got there did I?) . . . . . . .

Location, structure, programs, and care of patients was excellent. Programs for those persons that don't FIT into a category - mental illness caused by drug abuse. Neither drug abuse nor mental illness want them. It's so frustrating. The patient is doomed to failure as there is no follow up treatment. The facility was clean, the staff well-trained, the programs were strong. The problem we had was that my brother didn't FIT so was shuffled from program to program and because he was an adult and didn't want to be there, once his hold was up he was discharged although he was still causing himself harm and we were still afraid he would kill himself. But this is a state law to protect the abuser.

Excellent! Every member of the staff was professional, caring and knowledgeable. There are 22 beds in the adult unit, compared to another rehab hospital I was at where there were 60 people in our group and 3 to a room. You have your own room, with a bathroom. The group areas are comfortable and bright. Take advantage of the scheduled classes, I learned SO much in every one of them. I felt safe at all times, and have been clean for 12 days now. I know that this is not a long time, but for me it is, and I'm so excited for the future.

My daughter was near death ... we had attempted placement in other facilities and no one got back to us. We saw a program on Dr. Phil that talked about this facility and in a desperate moment I made a call to them. I was told to bring her right away and they would take her. They saved my child's life. They involved family by holding a family week for education and support in addition to weekly conference calls involving the patient, counseler and parents.

Some of the staff members at the inpatient facility were not very empathetic/understanding toward our situations. Some of them treated us more as prisoners rather than people who were struggling in life and needing help finding happiness. That being said, most of the staff were very kind and understanding. They are also successful at forming to certain patients dietary needs (I.e. Vegetarianism).
