Peggy Albrecht
Executive Director

Like Friendly House, Peggy Albrecht is a success story. Through tenacity, hard work and sobriety, she has devoted her life to the service of others. Peggy has first-hand knowledge of what it is like to rise from the depths of alcoholism. Her own sobriety began over 40 years ago after she realized her world was collapsing around her. In 1971 Peggy was employed as an executive at a Fortune 500 company and was a practicing alcoholic. “I found my drinking escalating and my life collapsing around me. I contemplated suicide and, during my last drunk, knew something had to change,” she says. Peggy called her brother and he took her to her first meeting on May 10, 1971. Peggy has been sober ever since that day.
