I went to Flat-C 2 years ago.. Best thing ever.. I\'ve relapsed many times in the past.. Im from Pittsburgh Pa by the way.. So I went 1,500 miles to get help.. The difference with me going to Flat-C and the other programs I\'ve been is.. Flat-C gives you the skills to start working a new way of life not telling you what we already know that we have a chemical enbalance.. The techs couldn\'t have been so helpful.. One staff member what a blessing she came into my life.. Rehabd are rehabs it\'s all as you wanna take it.. When I was there the clients were awesome.. To also say we did get $75.00 a week for food not $60.00 as said before.. I\'ll so love to go back and maybe share my experience.. I hope this review will help.. Might be a little scattered but I know all will understand what I\'m saying.. God bless you all..

Our adult son was treated here (FLATC) for 60 days. Quite frankly, we thank God every day for this facility! Humble in its appearance, but don\'t let that fool you, as the \"marble palaces\" spend their money on the surroundings, not therapy. Here, it is an intensive inpatient program, focusing on the 12 steps. In addition to therapy morning and afternoon six and a half days a week, there is attendance at an AA or NA meeting every night. Is there some repitition? Of course! It takes more than once hearing something to have it sink in. There is also an intensive outpatient program. The comments about medical care were surprising, as we did not experience anything other than a high level of care. Our son arrived after a hospital stay for an overdose and had lingering medical issues. He was monitored closely, and we were communicated with regularly. He saw a nurse sometimes up to three times a day, and doctors as needed. The accommodations were appropriate, and clean! The allowance for food is $75.00 per week, not $60.00 as reported in a precious review here! If a resident ran out of food, (which did not happen to our son), it was made clear that they would be given additional funds to get more food. Yes, they cook their own food, but the group that he lived with worked out a system that was fair and equitable. There is a very busy schedule, which includes a chance to go to a gym everyday, outings, and special field trips on occasion. There is a massage therapist on staff, and most have one or two massages a week. The administrators and therapists that we worked with were incredibly dedicated and communicative. The program director even gave us his cell phone number and responded to text messages within minutes. We were offered family therapy sessions which we took advantage of, which was one on one, not group. Our son had both group and individual counseling sessions. The techs are plentiful and committed. Many have been in recovery and are dedicated to giving back. Their commitment to ensuring that your loved one is successful is a huge part of the success of FLATC. As we lived within driving distance, we visited every week for family visiting hours, in addition to attending family counseling, and saw first hand the dedication of all who work there. Our son credits his success with recovery to the FLATC program. He was willing, he listened, and he did the work! There is no facility that is perfect for all, but if you or your loved one are serious about recovery, and want a serious program that works, then take a very close look at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center.

Cigarettes and adult coloring books are the real treatment here. Therapists and staff don\'t bother you too much. Felt like this place is great for the whole millennial participation-award crowd. To sum it up this place is just a free vacation (if you have insurance) for drug addicts. The real help is in the rooms of AA and NA.

After contacting the facilities marketer who basically sold me on the place as a top-notch destination for treatment and the perfect place to learn how to live a new way of life. As soon as I arrived, the facility was the exact opposite of how she described it to me. Most clients\' have zero respect for themselves as well as other clients\' & staff members. The therapists\' have no control over the clients\' and people do whatever they want. The director is afraid of the clients\', never speaks to them since seems to look down on people with addiction problems as disgusting. It\'s worth noting most of the techs do go above and beyond for the clients\' which is ironic since they are barely paid anything close to a living wage. If you have good insurance, you will be treated like a celebrity by all the staff & even allowed to live in upscale housing. Otherwise you will be assigned to a property that resembles an old, run-down motel. Make no mistake treatment is a business and that\'s exactly what FLATC is, only in it for the money. If you leave AMA or relapse, they\'re happy because it\'s repeat business. They are happy when people make it but that is few and far between. It\'s worth noting that only 1 therapist out of 7 is in recovery. Most staff members enjoy standing around smoking all day long but when a client needs to see them, we were told the therapists/case manager was too busy. The material taught to us was extremely repetitive, predictable & every 2 weeks repeated over again. This was my experience and I\'m writing this because if I had known this in advance I would\'ve went somewhere else. Don\'t sell yourself short, look at other options.

Well I must say this facility is a lousy place for recovery. Don't be fooled people, Florida is the number one treatment capital of the country because everyone goes there and then relapses repeatedly and is in and out of treatment centers. Well let's begin this honest review with the fact that the staff is terrible. The therapists themselves don't even have great knowledge of their clients. You see them twice a week. And you see them with the rest of the clients in their case load. You have to pray that one client isn't their sole focus... The nurses are completely djumb. I asked for information printouts on my medication. Never got it. The response is that they are always busy. You will see them smoking a lot. And at night when you get your meds. ...You get a lousy $60 a week to eat. Good luck with that. Most of the people teaching the classes aren't even therapist. They are life coaches. I signed myself in. So I decided to sign myself out due to this situation. Clients run this facility. They take over meetings. Therapists can't take control. The living quarters are very uncomfortable. Too crammed. No privacy. The classes are a repeated cycle. So after 20 some days you get taught the same things over and over. The techs will make bonds with clients and bring them contraband and let them use their phones. And if your loved ones try to contact you? Many times you will not even get notified... and anytime you do get to talk to your loves ones the entire conversation is monitored. Make sure you research the facts of your situation and this facility before one of the telemarketers con you into a dump and many bills.
