- Joint Commission Accreditation - ACHA License allows FCFR to treat primary mental health - It is run by a triple-board-certified neuro-psychiatrist who is also certified in addiction psychiatry (the only treatment facility in FL owned and operated by an addiction psychiatrist). - The treatment team includes medical professionals, licensed therapists, medical students, nurse practitioners and more. The treatment is in the hands of professionals, unlike most treatment centers where the Doctor rarely sees the patients, if they even have a Doctor on staff in the first place. - The Comprehensive nature of the program takes a patient through all levels of care, guiding them to a real life with a job, housing, sober supports, and family. - Honestly, every day FCFR adjusts to the needs of the patients and intervenes with the most appropriate therapeutic intervention at any given time, therefore any "would be weakness" is quickly transformed into a positive learning experience for the patient. Overall, it took me just under a year to get a solid foundation of recovery and to begin having healthy relationships with my family and friends. The wait was worth it, as 30 - 90 day programs had never worked for me before. All throughout my journey at FCFR I kept saying, “I hate this place, I want to go home, the staff sucks and they don’t know me etc…” The thing is, that was my diseased brain. The Family Center for Recovery was able to analyze and understand my behaviors in order to provide me the best treatment possible (probably because I saw my psychiatrist and therapist every day at FCFR, which never happened in the other centers). Even though each patient is different, the ability of the treatment team at FCFR to understand the illness remains the same. Individual treatment plans are provided based on the specific diagnosis and behavior that the patient displays. They even help patients find jobs, build resumes, do interview prep, and much more to reintegrate patients into the real world. In the end, FCFR was the first place that truly understood my behavior and was able to see through the BS. Incredible. By the way, I could not have done any of this if it weren’t for my family, and their commitment to their recovery program as well. While your loved one recovers, it is crucial that you recover as well. They attended Family Weekends, participated on the support calls, and were a perfect addition to the FCFR treatment team. Without their participation and understanding of the illness (thanks to FCFR education and support), there is no chance I would be here today. Bottom line is, that FCFR is unlike any traditional treatment center. It is run by medical professionals that will stop at nothing to get you well, regardless of how anyone views them. Yes, sometimes the patient and/or the family may disagree with a recommendation, but there is ALWAYS a therapeutic value behind each decision. For patients and families who truly want to turn their lives around, there is no better choice than Family Center for Recovery. If you bring an open-mind, FCFR will bring you recovery.
