Staff are just like the Students the just graduated the program. We All are imperfect so our focus is not on the staff. Our focus should be on the Lord. It could use some alternative ways to deal with certain issues. No one there is perfect. People are there for different reasons either they have become complacent or just scared to live in the real world.

This place is a joke. We took my brother there he wasn’t ther 2 months and the told him he had to leave. These men have problems that’s why they come to these treatment facilities. No warning didn’t even talk to him just kicked him out for joking with another guy in the program. How can you have someone sigh a ten month contract and they just kick you out... Feeling sad. How can these people say they stand behind God and judge and kick around especially when they need this to help them be better people.

This program is amazing. My brother attended for 10 months and just came home. He is a changed man. Thank YOU God for Faith Farm and that in Christ old things have passed away. This program removed the financial burden and taught him great work ethic and Godly skills. He left with college credits, a GED and he got a job the NEXT DAY after his release. We are definitely seeing the fruits of him being in this program. This program works if you work it. I'm so thankful everyday.

This place is a joke. Faith Farm is no more than a modern day work camp that hides behind the cross, The management staff does not care about any thing or anybody. they don\'t lift a finger to help you transition out in to the real world. the career center is no more than window dressing to try and make them look good. Their only concern is to make a profit.. I\'m proud to say that I have been sober for the last three and a half years. PRAISE GOD.

My godson was expelled after a student evaluation decided he was not where he \" should be spiritually\". When my godson told me this I called to talk to the man who I had just talked to the week before about making an eye appt. he told me to make it for the end of the month because my godson\'s evaluation was coming up and he would be eligible for his first 7 hour pass. When I asked why they were expelling my godson he said the student evaluation determined that my godson was not where he should spiritually be. They could not tell me what that meant. He told me that the evaluation went to corporate and they determine that the evaluation is low and that the person has to be expelled. There was not any godly counsel offered before this expulsion. My godson was totally blindsided by this decision. He had no idea he was being considered for expulsion. People grow spiritually at different paces. He didn\'t get addicted over an eight week period and surely 8 weeks of recovery would not bring complete wholeness. As a family we saw significant change after 30 days and more change after 60 days. He had hope for his future for the first time in a long time. I\'m not saying the program is not effective but I feel the administration should be more involved in the removal of someone to make sure that the person is aware of spiritual expectations or to make sure the evaluation was accurate and balanced. I think that the handling of this particular removal is a reflection on the management and or director of the program. As a family we will pray and trust God because he is a God of grace and mercy. His plans are always good.

My daughter will b graduating after having completed 10 mos in the women\'s program. Over the last 7 yrs she had been in other rehab programs, some being quite expensive and supposedly offering counseling by psychiatrists and mental health counselors. While Faith Farm may not provide the luxury or high priced medical care it is the only program tbat has worked for her. We no longer had the money to spend on an expensive facility and she felt hopeless and destinies to spend her life addicted to pills. In the past 10 mos she has realized that she does not need to wake up sick every day with her first thought being where and how can she get pills. She sees that she can have a normal life and live free of drugs. We have never been a religious family and it has been difficult for her accept many of the teachings but she now believes that there is a higher power. She believes in herself. She has formed strong frienfships and respect for the staff there. I am deeply grateful for Faith Farms. Anyone who complains obviously wants an easy road. Recovery is hard work. Faith Farm is a totally FREE program. There are tbere to help those who have no where else to turn and who really truly want to have a better life. It isn\'t luxury and residents are expected to work which is what life is all about, being a productive part of society. Anyone reading these reviews should not be influenced by the negative reviews written by people who aren\'t appreciative or willing to work hard. Granted if someone is dual diagnosed with addiction AND a mental/psychological illness they do need medication and/or professional care. Faith Farm is not a medical facility and will not provide that. They do not claim to provide tbat. So ignore the negative reviews and if u r desperate and want help I highly recommend them and I thank them for giving me my daughter back

I am a graduate of this progam, Was on their praise and worship team from 2008-2010.. Did alot of Unrecognized work there.. Overall this program and the staff taught me alot about life.. I was alot younger when I was there and not as mature spiritually and mentally as I am now.. It has been 8 long years since I graduated! I am currently 33 years old, Reflecting back on what they taught me and all thefun, I wish I could\'ve stayed to advance.. But like they teach you in the classes, God has placed a higher calling in my life, but I still minister and share my times at this place with people that Cross my path Daily! I currently live in Texas, and I\'ll tell you what, Houston definitely Needs a place like this... please feel free contact me, I am a fellow alumni member!

I gained a personal relationship with Christ there and learned a lot about myself. They celebrate recovery, which is very nice. However, there is no mental health program.

This place is a disgrace to Christians. We took our son there for help and they kept him six days, drug tested him, and then released him. I tried to talk to the staff who did nothing but scream over the speaker phone at me then screamed at my son... I feel sorry for any addict who has to endure this ungodly treatment when trying to get help. No one would help us.

An excellent program for those wanting to change their lives, not just their behaviors. Completely self funded so there is no burden on the client. Strong Christian Values. Positive attributes of the facility included it's Faith-based Christian program that teaches renewal and regeneration, not just rehab. However, there was a lack of funds to adequately provide for the needs of the facility.

Program was very strict, worked half days Monday-Friday, then had classes, sometimes from 1-7, sometimes from 1-5. Church required on Sunday am, Wed. pm. Daily Bible reading, prayer, and quiet time required This was for the Women's program, the Men's may be different. Lots of unwritten rules,, so be sure to read the weekly meeting notes so you know what they are. Must be highly motivated when you go there, the classes they provide help if you're ready to change, but the program is so strict, it won't work if you're not ready. It helps to be away from the outside world, but can only see family once a week after the first month, and also only talk on the phone with family once a week. Only allowed to leave the farm once a month for 7 hours, then only with an approved family member. It has a high success rate. I've been sober for 5 years now. I would re-enter if I ever relapsed, but feel they gave me the tools I needed so that won't happen. It was free, had classes daily that helped correct my thinking, and kept me away from alcohol while I was there so was able to start thinking more clearly.

This is not a treatment center in any way. They have no idea what this place is. They throw them a Bible and tell them to go to work. If you are going to donate to a facility of any kind go there and ask the people how they are treated. No matter what state they come from if they break a rule say like reading an AA book or any book other than the Bible they are put out on the street. Its not a good place for recovery at all. By the way I am not a disgruntled student I am an ex employee.

This is not in any way a place for recovery. They give you a Bible and have you work all day. Thats all they offer. Its a bed bug ridden place that has a thrift store. All donations are picked through and taken by the employees. With the million dollars in food stamps and food donations you would think they would eat like kings. If there is any food left over after the staff and employees eat, it is fatty and unhealthy. The employees treat the men like they are less then human. ... If you are looking for recovery this is not the place.

Official Facility Response
Your comment is correct. We are not a medical treatment facility and never claimed to be one. We are a free, long-term, faith based recovery program providing all basic needs including free housing, food and clothing. We provide a Comprehensive Work Training (CWT) Program that teaches resume worthy trade skills to better prepare for after Faith Farm. In addition, we provide GED Training and our recovery curriculum is college accredited for up to 9 college credits that can be earned while in recovery. There is an important Spiritual Component to recovery that needs to be addressed as well as the physical and mental components. Different programs work for different people. Faith Farm is 63 years old with a Rescue Mission personality. Those who come to us receive the life skills and spiritual tools needed to help restore hope for them and their families. Life change happens at Faith Farm.
