I liked that I could talk to my counselor several times a week, not just 1 session a week like the lest place I went to. Since she worked in the evening and did not have a high caseload she had plenty of time for me. #real patient #thank you boardprep

My son recently relapsed but asked to go back to BoardPrep. This time he was honest. They asked if I would share my experience because relapses can be stopped early on. Also, being able to meet with the doctor and get the information we are paying for directly is great. I know from other families that went elsewhere that they were not included in the process and never spoke to the doctor. Our experience with boardprep is that we were included in everything because their philosophy is that it is a family disease and it has to be family recovery too.

We didn't know what to expect but now we would say the whole experience surpassed all expectations. The staff knew what was going to happen before it did and had already planned for it. We have friends that put loved ones in treatment elsewhere and did not have a good experience or outcome. We are very grateful to BoardPrep Recovery. After going through it, you realize everything that can go wrong and realize the importance of their small size, the personal attention and their years of experience doing this kind of treatment. My one piece of advice for anyone seeking treatment for themselves or a loved one would be to really look over the website and especially the staff page. Take the time to look at the training and experience of the people who will be doing the actual work.

BoardPrep Recovery was a very good experience for me. The things I noticed immediately was the welcoming atmosphere and the really good food, Chef was awesome! I had a private room and was allowed plenty of individual time to decompress when I needed to. Most of all, I felt I got a lot out of the experience as far as dealing with my addiction issues and not wanting to go back to where I came from. I really have a strong desire to stay in recovery and use the tools I learned at BoardPrep Recovery. I want to thank all of the staff and my family for supporting me during this difficult time.

DO NOT go to this doctor for an evaluation referred by IPN! I thought I would give this doctor a shot being fairly familiar with the other doctors that IPN had given me to chose from. He will seem very friendly, compassionate, and trusting during the evaluation...however, he will rip you apart once you finally (took almost 4 weeks) receive his recommendation. Please be full warned for the sake of your nursing license that you worked so hard for. Any other doctor!!!! You will regret it!

I was told I was bipolar yet tested repeatedly including at Board Prep who stayed I was bipolar. I had to take lithium and live in a shack literally. No phone, Devestated and alone in a hurricane. They are an addiction facility for people with Court cases ranging from thieve, illegal drugs, DUIS and Not with mental health issues they know nothing about but took on for the money...

Take it from this recovering addict, recovery is a great investment! I personally know someone who spitefully gave a one star review and know for a fact they were just upset about being referred out to a stricter place due to breaking rules and trying to create chaos at Boardprep. The clinical director is patient but will not let one person ruin the experience for others. The person relapsed of course and now blames the world for their consequences. Clue: that is what we addicts do when we are not in recovery . . . we take no responsibility. I imagine any other negative comments are from people in similar circumstances although I do not know for sure. Everyone that I know that completed the Boardprep program is still in recovery and has nothing but great things to say about Boardprep.

BoardPrep helped my son. The doctors and therapists are the most knowledgeable and experienced group in the area. I found this out after a lot of discussions with other families that had been through other programs. Several said they wish they had found Boardprep first. The main thing is, since going through BoardPrep our son has really turned his life around. I am writing this review on Thanksgiving day as an expression of my gratitude for the dedicated staff of Boardprep recovery center. They had asked me to write a review in the past and I had not gotten around to it, but then realized it was a small thing I can do to share our experience and perhaps help others along the way. It also seems important to give people a realistic and balanced perspective because people that are angry or have an ax to grind are usually not bashful about trashing people online. Our experience with BoardPrep recovery center was 100% positive. Without exception. The treatment program was completey transparent, encouraging and facilitating family involvement. The professional clinical staff was always accessible but frankly they usually called us with updates before we called them. The financial process was also handled very professionally with no surprises. The financial office was very careful to explain anticipated insurance coverage, down payment, deductibles and co-pays, making sure we understood everything. When it was all said and done, our son completed the entire four phase program and was invited to stay in the housing after treatment while he becan attending Hillsborough community college. So he was there for about six months all together. Insurance helped with some of it but as was explained to us, some of the most beneficial aspects of the extended care program may not be covered by insurance. We were concerned about the possibility of getting a big bill. But after it was all said and done our entire out-of-pocket expense for the six months that he was it was at Boardprep was less than what we would have paid for a so called high end program out of state or in south Florida. We do not think we are completely out of the woods because what we learned about the disease process and the recovery process from BoardPrep tells us that it is still early. But we know if he continues to follow the program a day at a time and we continue to do our part as parents to support him to be drug and alcohol free, his recovery and life journey will continue in a positive direction.

I do not usually write reviews for anything but my AA sponsor told me that this is a good way to give back, by sharing my experience strength and hope. So what I mainly want to say is that, in the beginning, I did not think treatment would work for me. I did not want "recovery" nor did I want to be in treatment. In treatment something unexpected happened. I began to "want to want" recovery, if that makes sense. I think it will make sense to people who have been where I was. Looking back now, I realize that I was so far gone, that I had actually given up on myself. I was broken. Now, thanks to BoardPrep I have three years of recovery under my belt. I have a whole new perspective on life. Through my continued involvement in 12 step programs including regular meeting attendance and service work with newcomers in recovery, I continue to experience unexpected miracles in my life that would have never happened if I was still out there using drugs and alcohol. When people say "you have to want to recover," I tell them my story and that I think treatment is especially for people who do NOT want to recover at first. After all, the disease takes away your hopes and dreams. Do you at least want to want something better? Try recovery for a day, a week, a month . . . see what happens . . . you will be amazed

I work in a doctors office and referred a patient to BoardPrep Recovery. They were really flexible about giving him time during treatment to make sure his engineering firm did not suffer while he was getting help. He commented later the he would not have gotten help at all if it meant his business would suffer even more. BoardPrep treated him like a professional but still gave him the strong care he needed. He is still doing well today.

A great experience. Glad I did it. I was referred to boardprep by IPN for alcohol rehab because they are approved for nurses. A friend of mine, also a nurse, went to another Florida program last year and had a very bad experience. I was worried I would be kept too long or that the experience would be harsh or humiliating, like I had heard about the other program. The opposite happened. I was respected and cared for in ways that I did not even know I needed. Recovery is awesome. I owe my life to boardprep!

BoardPrep saved my life. I am so grateful to the staff and founders of this remarkable recovery center. They were patient and kind when I was being stubborn and difficult. It was a dark time. They had faith in me when I had none in myself. They took the time to answer all of my questions and my family\'s concerns as well. They helped my family as much as they helped me. They explained the options for treatment, the time commitment and the costs very clearly. They explained that my insurance was out-of-network but helped with the claim. My family was pleasantly surprised to get some pretty good insurance reimbursement after the deductible was paid. Since I was in treatment 4 years ago, we found the fees to be VERY reasonable in comparison. This time, I was in treatment just over 90 days at BoardPrep including outpatient sessions but the cost overall was still less than what we paid for the 30-day rehab in South Florida 4 years ago. The financial coordinator at BoardPrep handled the insurance claims and billing very professionally and we never had any concerns. I continue to do follow-up visits with BoardPrep (seeing a therapist weekly, urine screens and psychiatric follow-ups) and my insurance covers it almost fully now. I know without the follow-ups, I would not be feeling as solid as I do right now. I have a good support network, my medications are right and I like myself again. Life is good. I am further along in recovery now than I was the last time when I relapsed. This time I know to stick with the basics, keep it simple and stay grateful!

I have never been so appalled by the dishonest nature of a professional establishment as I have Board Prep. What makes it even more gut-wrenching is that this is supposed to be somewhere that families can put their faith and trust into knowing that treatment and help is a number one main objective. Well NOT with Board Prep. If your have any savings left after the initial costs, don\'t let it be known, as I assure you, staff will suddenly forget to make an insurance claim and nail you for every dime they can... The lies they force upon families... and the lack of mental help and true therapy is a disgrace. But if you like paying $14,000 a month for your loved one to go to AA all day and night as a break from grunt labor, then this is your place. I\'m definitely filing a report and formal legal complaint.

We are perplexed and dismayed at the scathing comments offered by JG. We have not received any such feedback directly from anyone, but are eager to work with JG to clear up any issues. Fees are discussed and agreed to in advance. Insurance is billed in a timely and professional manner. BoardPrep is typically half the price or less compared to other programs of similar quality specializing in dual disorders nationwide. We are proud to adhere to the best-practice model of Twelve Step Facilitation which means patients usually attend one AA or NA meeting per day as a fun group activity. These meetings are in addition to professionally facilitated group therapies and individual therapies which consist of 24-28 hours weekly. We do not know what JG is referring to in the comment about menial labor unless it is a reference to life-skills such as cooking, cleaning up or cleaning one's room. These activities are an important part of recovery, building self-worth and esprit de corp. We hope JG will reach out to us directly.

Even though they opened in 2013, it felt like they really knew what they were doing and had been working together for a long time. I had lots of individual attention from my primary therapist and the other therapists and staff all seemed to get me. I had a private room all the way through treatment. The appliances in the house were new and the furniture was clean and nice. I was given a new sheets and towels and my bed was very comfortable. We had our own laundry facilities in the house. We grocery shopped at a whole foods store and cooked healthy meals and worked out at LA fitness. I was \"on buddy\" system for the first month and I was always with staff or a trusted senior resident but I liked that because I always had someone to talk to. We went to outside AA and NA meetings as a group almost every evening and usually every day at noon too. They kept us very busy but that was good because I was never bored. They emphasized \"fun in recovery\" a lot so we did a lot of sober fun outings like going to the beach or go-karts or movies. I made a bunch of friends whom I stay in touch with months later, so I think that is a good sign that the changes I made in treatment are sticking. I probably do not go to as many meetings as I should now but i am still clean and sober and doing well.

This \"treatment\" is, sadly, a pathetic excuse for them to make money. Two staff members are very unstable and provide nothing but \"fly by the seat of their pants\" therapy. I don\'t know of any patients that were benefited by being here. Please do not waste your money. You deserve real to in the hands of people with integrity. It does exist at BP.
