Treatment Center Philosophy

Our treatments are strategically designed to correct both addiction and mental health issues. We address the physical, emotional and spiritual facets of each individual to create the proper stage for lasting recovery. We understand the medical and biochemical causes of mental health symptoms and addiction, and we treat these underlying problems with scientifically proven methods of integrated treatment. Lack of brain balancing nutrients, toxic drugs and other poisons we may have accumulated over a lifetime can create drug and alcohol cravings as well as interrupt the balance of brain chemicals that are normally associated with a healthy mental state. We not only address this balance with customized top-shelf programs for nutrition and detoxification but also with medication tapering, counseling, exercise and yoga, supplementation, organic diets, acupuncture, colonics, and other environmental medicine therapies.

  • "I came to Alternative to Meds Center for help to understand the anxiety I deal with on a daily basis. I was taking Kolonopin and Ativan in hopes of feeling normal again. I had lost myself and the desire to live. My step-daughter found out about Alternative to Meds Center and I agreed to come and get help. I am now medication free. I am in a much better place thanks to ATMC. Through the groups, the Detox Shoppe, the supplements and my therapist, I have come a long way. I will forever remember the staff and friends I made here at ATMC."
  • "I found Alternative to Meds Center on the internet when I looked up “Holistic Health Centers for Bipolar Disorder” ... This experience has been amazing and transformative. Alternative to Meds Center is an incredible facility. When I arrived at Alternative to Meds Center in March 2016 I was an absolute mess and was on Prozac and Bupropion. I have met some of the most courageous and amazing people here at ATMC. If you are contemplating a stay at ATMC, here’s my advice: Give it to yourself because you deserve it. Work the program. It can be difficult but you will emerge as a new and improved person. This was one the best gifts I ever gave to myself. Trust the process and trust the staff. They have your back."
  • "A big thumbs up for Alternative to Meds Center! I entered the program after having been on Seroquel for 7 years. I couldn't lower the dosage below 150 mg by myself without having horrible withdrawal symptoms. Through the use of the supplements, the sauna and the whole program, I was able to come off of Seroquel with hardly any mental side effects. This program is a miracle! ATMC saved my life and I can never thank them enough!"
  • "I came to ATMC to get off 5 psych medications that I had been on for 12 years that were robbing me of my own self and life. At the end of my 8 week stay at ATMC I am medication free, successfully off of one anti-depressant, one stimulant, and two anti-psychotics. I feel like a completely different person and energy. I no longer struggle with chronic fatigue, lack of motivation or disconnected from everything. I feel incredibly more grounded in myself, my passions, my wants, my needs, and desires."
  • "Before coming to ATMC I was in two psych hospitals and two treatment centers in the matter of one month. I was put on multiple psych meds and my symptoms were worsening with anxiety, depression, shakiness, lack of sleep, and feeling like a zombie on Zoloft and Remeron. I found ATMC online in desperation to get my life back again. The love and support I received at ATMC helped me through the medication taper. The staff here is so caring and amazing. It is a safe and fun environment to heal. For anyone considering coming to and investing in treatment at ATMC I say- Please do it! Your life will be forever changed"
  • "I had been self-medicating with drugs and alcohol for 12 years of my life. My reason for choosing Alternative to Meds Center over other treatment programs was the simple fact that the healing focused on natural and holistic methods, which we as humans have been using for centuries prior to the pharmaceutical regime that dominates us today. My decision could not have been better. The program revolved around rebuilding the basic and essential blocks of life through diet, supplements, removing of toxins built up in everyday life, and spiritual/emotional well being. If you’re looking for a place to help you there’s no better than the program here."

I did relapse 6 months after leaving, but I learned valuable tools to stay sober, and I am sober now. I also learned to eat correctly, meditate, and take the right supplements. I also made lifelong friends there with other patients and staff.
